The aim of the competition is to enable academic teachers to obtain funding for the costs of publication in prestigious scientific journals and their dissemination in open access.

In accordance with the competition rules, funding for publication costs may be awarded for placing an article in the OA publication system in scientific journals from Q1 according to Web of Science.

Funds allocated for financing publications are spent in quarterly cycles until the amounts allocated for this purpose in a given quarter are exhausted. Applications submitted as part of the competition will be reviewed by a verification committee, which will take into account an analysis of the bibliometric parameters of the journal (the indicators that will be taken into account in the evaluation of the application are specified in Appendix 2 to the competition rules).

A prerequisite for obtaining funding is to submit an application using the application form before the service is performed and the invoice is delivered – it is not possible to pay the invoice if there was no prior approval for funding and orders (the relevant order is entered in Xprimer by an employee of the IDUB Programme Section). In the case of foreign publications, the amount requested should also include 23% VAT, which the University must pay. Once approval for the financing of the publication from IDUB funds has been obtained, the invoice should be forwarded to the IDUB Programme Section immediately upon receipt, stating the date on which the service was provided.
