Dr Piotr Przymus, Deputy Head of POB Climatrix, receives NAWA grant for project with TU Wien

dr Piotr Przymus

The list of beneficiaries of the NAWA competition for Polish-Austrian cooperation includes research by dr Piotr Przymus team from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Nicolaus Copernicus University.

Together with the Vienna University of Technology, the researchers will carry out the project “Securing Agentic AI in Software Engineering Tasks: Attack Surfaces, Threat Models, and Defenses.”

The task involves researching autonomous AI systems used to automate key processes in software engineering, such as writing and modifying code. Its goal is to understand the potential threats and attack vectors associated with the use of such agents. Based on this, the team will develop effective and cost-efficient defense mechanisms, increasing the security of autonomous artificial intelligence systems.

The team has received the maximum funding of PLN 30,000 for travel and accommodation costs. The project will run from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2027.
