Competition description
The purpose of the competition is to enable doctoral students of the University who are not members of the Centers of Excellence and Emerging Fields to gain international research experience through short-term visits to recognized foreign scientific institutions. The competition is open to University doctoral students who are not members of a team within a Center of Excellence or Emerging Field. Under the competition, it is possible to obtain funding for a visit 30 days (hereinafter referred to as an internship) to a foreign scientific institution.

Mobility competition for doctoral students – 7th edition
The competition was aimed at doctoral students of the University enabling them to gain international research experience through short-term research internships at recognized foreign scientific institutions.
The competition was open to a doctoral student of the University who was not a member of a team within the University’s center of excellence. Under the competition, it is possible to obtain funding for a research internship of 2 to 8 weeks, hereinafter referred to as “internship”, at a foreign scientific institution.
The competition attracted 7 applications to the HS Council, 4 applications to the ST Council and 6 applications to the NZ Council (a total of 17 applications meeting the formal requirements). All applications were subjected to substantive evaluation by the competition committee. As a result of the individual evaluations, a list of winners in the “Excellence Initiative – Mobility for Doctoral Students – 7th edition” competition was drawn up.

As part of the 6th edition of the “Mobility for doctoral students” competition, 13 applications were submitted, including
– 5 applications in the HS Panel,
– 3 applications in the NZ Panel,
– 5 applications in the ST Panel.
All applications were subjected to substantive evaluation by the competition committee.
As a result of the individual evaluations, a list of winners in the “Excellence Initiative – Mobility for Doctoral Students – 6th Edition” competition was drawn up.

Edition V 02.10.2023 – 31.10.2023
In the 5th edition of the “Mobilities for Doctoral Students” competition, 24 applications were submitted, including:
- 6 applications in the HS Panel,
- 11 applications in the NZ Panel, and
- 7 applications in the ST Panel.
All applications were subject to a merit-based evaluation by the competition committee.
In the 5th edition of the “Mobilities for Doctoral Students” Competition, the Committee recommends funding for:
for the HS Panel: applications that received at least 140 points,
for the NZ Panel: applications that received at least 145 points,
for the ST Panel: applications that received at least 150 points.
As a result of the individual evaluations, a list of winners in the “Excellence Initiative – Mobility for Doctoral Students – 5th Edition” competition was compiled.

Edition III 03.10-31.10.2022
We received 7 applications to the HS council, 8 applications to the ST council and 6 applications to the NZ council (a total of 21 applications that met the formal criteria). All applications were subjected to substantive evaluation by the competition committee. As a result of the individual evaluations, each application form submitted in the third edition of “Excellence Initiative – Mobility for doctoral students – 3rd edition” has received funding.
The competition committee conducted a formal and substantive evaluation of the competition applications consisted of the directors of doctoral schools operating at the University led by the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School Academia Copernicana and a representative of the Working Group No. 2, i.e., Dr. Grzegorz Bobinski, Prof. UMK.
