Publications – competition for doctoral students

Continuous recruitment

The aim of the competition is to finance the publication costs of doctoral students under the ‘Initiative of Excellence – Research University’ programme. Doctoral students are eligible to participate in the competition. The competition covers the following costs:

  • fees for providing open access to an article in a Q1 or Q2 scientific journal;
  • fees for translation or linguistic correction of an article;
  • co-financing for the printing of a monograph.

Detailed information, including maximum funding amounts, is specified in the competition rules. In order to receive funding for publication costs, it is necessary to submit an appropriate application using the dedicated application form available at the link below. The competition is conducted on an ongoing basis until the funds allocated for a given calendar year are exhausted.

Applications for funding for publication costs must be submitted before the service is performed and the invoice is delivered – it is not possible to pay the invoice if there was no prior approval for funding and orders (the relevant order is entered in Xprimer by an employee of the IDUB Programme Section). In the case of foreign publications and translators, the amount requested should also include 23% VAT, which the University is required to pay. Once approval for financing the publication from IDUB funds has been obtained, the invoice should be forwarded to the IDUB Programme Section immediately upon receipt, together with the date on which the service was provided.
