The Toruń Researchers’ Night 2025 is now behind us. The event took place at the welcoming venue of the Centre of Modernity “Mill of Knowledge” and featured shows, lectures, and experiments with active participation from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, including contributions from the ExcellenceInitiative – Research University (IDUB NCU).
Highlights of the program included:
- the re-enactment of the famous Magdeburg hemispheres experiment by the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science,
- a presentation of algae from a space mission experiment conducted during Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski’s mission to the International Space Station, prepared by Marcin Woźniak from theCollegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz in cooperation with Extremo Technologies,
- a meeting with Krzysztof Wielecki, mountaineer and participant in Himalayan expeditions, hosted by Patrycjusz Wyżga.
Other NCU faculties also joined the event:
- representatives of the Institute of Archaeology discussed the problem of microplastic pollution,
- the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial Management addressed the issue of light pollution,
- while the Faculty of Biological and Veterinary Sciences engaged visitors with a presentation on bees.
Once again, the Toruń Researchers’ Night proved that science can be an exciting adventure and an inspiration for audiences of all ages.
