For those less familiar with it: SCImago is one of the world’s most prestigious systems for evaluating scientific journals, based on data from the Scopus database. Titles are classified into four quartiles — from Q1 (i.e. the top 25% most frequently cited in a given field) to Q4. Being in Q1 is the equivalent of playing in the top flight.
“Scientia et Fides”, edited by Piotr Roszak — who is also a member of POB DigiTech4SELE — has achieved Q1 status in two fields: Religious Studies and Philosophy. In both categories, it ranks first among Polish journals.
“Biblica et Patristica Thoruniensia”, edited by Dariusz Kotecki, maintained its position in Q2 in the field of Religious Studies, whilst improving its score compared to last year. It was just five places short of promotion to Q1.
It is worth noting that of the 15 UMK journals included in the SCImago ranking, as many as five are in the Q1 or Q2 quartiles. Two of them are published by the Faculty of Theology.
Congratulations to the editors and the entire editorial teams!
