Selection of research teams representing priority research areas of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń – STAGE I
We would like to invite you to a consultation on the competition for the selection of research teams in priority research areas at UMK.
The consultation will take place on 27 March from 13:30 to 15:00 on the Microsoft Teams platform. The meeting will be an opportunity to discuss key issues related to the competition process, formal requirements and evaluation criteria.

2. Description of the competition:
Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń is announcing a competition for the selection of research teams under the ‘Initiative of Excellence – Research University’ (IDUB) programme. The aim of the competition is to support research in priority research areas (POB):
D2TH (Discovery, Diagnostics, Therapy for Healthcare),
InC3Web (Interfaces of Human Experience: Communication, Cognition, Culture, Wellbeing),
NatBio (Nature-based Solutions, Biodiversity and Climate change),
MoTiF (Novel Materials and Technologies for the Future).
3. Conditions of participation:
The competition is aimed at UMK employees who have demonstrated scientific activity and experience in obtaining external funding.
Course of the competition:
The competition is divided into two stages:
Stage I – submission and evaluation of initial competition applications and selection of successful candidates eligible to participate in Stage II;
Stage II – submission of full competition applications by Stage I laureate leaders, evaluation of applications and selection of competition winners.
20 teams (5 in each POB) will be selected to receive up to PLN 600,000 for project implementation (PLN 200,000 per year for 3 years: 2026-2028).

The list of successful applicants will be announced on the IDUB website. Decisions, together with the evaluation sheet, will be sent by e-mail to the address provided in the application form.
