Day-to-day supervision of the activities of the coordinating team is exercised by the Vice-Rector for Science – dr hab. Adam Kola, prof. UMK

Working Teams

Detailed goals in terms of raising the quality of research activity and the quality of education at the Nicolaus Copernicus University:

  • increasing the the number of highly scored publications and the quality of research (especially publications in Q1 and Q2 journals from the Web of Science);
  • increasing theacademic exchange (including medium-term internships) with the world’s leading research centers;
  • increasing the number of applications in prestigious grant competitions;
  • popularization of team activities and competitions among the employees of the Nicolaus Copernicus University.

The tasks of the I IDUB Team include activities aimed at improving the quality of research conducted at the University and increasing and internationalizing it. The team is responsible for organizing the following competitions:

  • Publications for employees, the purpose of which is to enable academics to obtain funding for the cost of publications in prestigious scientific journals and their dissemination in open access (Open Access),
  • “Grants for Grants”, the purpose of which is to support UMK employees preparing proposals in programs of an international nature,
  • Funding for activities in academic partnerships for members of university centers of excellence and research teams of emerging research fields,
  • Mobility for employees, which finances the arrival at UMK of employees from foreign centers and the travel of UMK para-staff.

Detailed goals in terms of raising the quality of research activity and the quality of education at the Nicolaus Copernicus University:

  • improving the quality of education of students and doctoral students, in particular in the fields of study and in research disciplines related to priority research areas (POB);
  • inclusion of students and doctoral students in conducting research activities;
  • effective competition for the most talented candidates for studies and for doctoral schools, also from abroad, by organizing summer schools, internships, dedicated scholarships, accreditations and academic partnerships with the best foreign universities;
  • implementation of a project-oriented and mobility-oriented education system;
  • doctoral schools with the flexible organization of the studies and a strong focus on research.

1. dr hab. Bogumiła Kupcewicz, Prof. UMK (Faculty of Pharmacy, Collegium Medicum NCU),

  • Participation in meetings of the IDUB Coordinating Team,
  • Planning meetings and coordinating the work of the Team,
  • Preparation of reports on the activities of the Team 2,
  • constant cooperation with the IDUB Secretariat,
  • coordinating the implementation of the Grants4NCUStudents and Mobility of doctoral students competitions,
  • coordinating cooperation with Collegium Invisibile – an association working to support the intellectual and social development of outstanding Polish male and female students, doctoral students and doctoral candidates.

2. dr hab. Rafał Haffer, prof. UMK (Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management) – coordination of COOP program,

  • Coordinating the implementation of the competition “CO-OP Internship Program”,
  • implementation of tasks in the CO-OP Internship Program, in accordance with the documentation of the process of implementation of the student internship program (process map, CO-OP Program schedule, instructions for contractors), available at https://idub.umk.pl/informacje-dla-pracownikow-obslugujacych-program-co-op,
  • Cooperation and support for administrative staff involved in the implementation of the program,
  • responding to problem situations and updating documentation of the process of implementation of the student internship program when improvements are made.

3. Milena Miszewska, MA (Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management),

  • Coordinating the implementation of SMART1,2,3 competitions, i.e. providing students with information about the competition, consulting students, reviewing applications in cooperation with Joasia Bozzevich, developing changes to the regulations (if necessary), appointing the competition committee, submitting applications for review, preparing minutes of competition committee meetings, etc..,
  • coordinating TSSP summer programs – working closely with and supporting the coordinators of each program, developing changes to the regulations, setting the schedule, promoting the program, responding to student inquiries,
  • cooperation with the IDUB secretariat.

4. Anna Wisniewska, MA (head of the Education Department) – tasks related to education, including: extended paths – IDUB MasterClass, majors in English, COOP program.

  • Cooperation and substantive support of the implementation of the tasks of Team 2 in relation to the education process,
  • Preparation of draft amendments to the regulations on the COOP program and participation in the preparation of other internal regulations on competitions coordinated by members of Team 2,
  • Cooperation with units involved in the implementation of the tasks of Team 2,including the IDUB Secretariat.

Detailed goals in terms of raising the quality of research and the quality of education at the Nicolaus Copernicus University:

  • preparation and implementation of comprehensive solutions for professional development of administrative staff and academic staff, in particular young researchers;
  • establishment of an internal grant system addressed to employees outside the Centres of Excellence and Emerging Fields;
  • well-defined professional duties and career paths in each position, facilitating the balanced professional development of university employees and improving the integrity of our University;
  • improving the quality of university management, including pro-quality organizational changes, in order to develop the university as a whole;
  • establishment of the university Think Tank and integrated offices: grant internationalization and human resources with agencies at the faculties;
  • introduction of lean management system and implementation of electronic document circulation.

Professor Michał Marszałł (Pharmaceutical Faculty, Collegium Medicum) – analysis of the proposed activities in the perspective of the functioning of the academic staff, people studying and preparing doctorates, scientific disciplines, priority research teams, representing scientific staff, representing the Bydgoszcz part of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń
  3. Associate Professor Piotr Rączka (Faculty of Law and Administration) – analysis of legal solutions, representation of academic staff, analysis of proposed activities in the perspective of the functioning of university administration at the faculty / dean’s office level
  4. Marzena Ruczyńska, PhD (Deputy Chancellor of the Collegium Medicum) – analysis of legal solutions,analysis of management solutions, Analysis of proposed solutions taking into account the strategic objectives and the Personnel Policy of the Medical University of Toruń, IDUB at CM Medicum (communication of solutions, information),Coordinating processes related to the implementation of the training plan for non-academic employees, reporting on the implemented training.

  • increasing innovation and cooperation with the socio-economic environment;
  • initiating and supporting contacts between the university and business entities;
  • taking full advantage of the university’s potential to stimulate innovation and implementation in accordance with international standards;
  • introduction of TRIZ training;
  • promotion of business incubator among students and doctoral students through Startup Weekends and Hackatony
  • expanding the role of the Academic Business Incubator  in promoting the importance of innovation at the university as well as the introduction and coordination of the university’s cooperation policy with the business environment.
